Orchestra Performs Vaughan Williams, Walton, and Sibelius
March 30, 2016 — The Marine Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Assistant Director Major Michelle A. Rakers, will perform music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Sir William Walton, and Jean Sibelius at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 1, at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. The Marine Band Sends Postcards to Bowie
March 21, 2016 — At 7:30 p.m., March 24, the Marine Band, conducted by Assistant Director 1st Lt. Ryan J. Nowlin, will deliver “Postcards” to the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts in Maryland. In addition to a number of domestic stops, this free concert will transport patrons internationally to France, Italy, England, and Scotland. MORE

Glasnost and Chamber Music
March 15, 2016 — The recent passing of former First Lady Nancy Reagan brings to mind many of President Ronald Reagan’s pivotal moments in office, not the least of which were the five summits with Mikhail Gorbachev. Through these negotiations, both men signed an historic treaty to reduce nuclear weapons. This era in Russia became known as “glasnost” or “openness” and led to a brand new dialogue between former rival countries.

Music at the Museum

Fettig, will take part in the National Gallery of Art’s four-day 75th anniversary commemoration with performances at noon and 2 p.m., Friday, March 18 in the West Garden Court in the West Building.
