On May 3, 2023, the United States Marine Band performed in the acoustic testing chamber at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., to see if it could reach the volume that the Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud and ocean Ecosystem (PACE) spacecraft would be exposed to when launched by rocket into orbit. Afterward, the band performed a brief concert for NASA staff, including the premiere of PACE Fanfare, and original piece by the Marine Band, dedicated to its namesake mission.
