Jim Lehrer Memorial Service
On Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, members of "The President's Own" supported the memorial service of former Marine Jim Lehrer. Lehrer, co-founder and longtime anchor of the PBS NewsHour, was a friend of the band. He died on Jan. 23 at the age of 85. A string quartet and vocalist performed and trumpeter sounded "Taps."
