Sunday, May 12 at 2 p.m.- This conductorless concert will highlight great works by composers at both the beginning and ending of their musical journeys, including Washingtonian Alistair Coleman, a young composer at the beginning of a promising career. Also, guest piano soloist Roman Rabinovich will join the orchestra to perform Beethoven’s Emperor piano concerto, the composer’s final work for piano and his most musically evolved. Pre-concert lecture will take place at 1:15 p.m. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place at Schlesinger Concert Hall at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria.
