2019 Concerto Competition for High School Musicians
Five high school students from around the nation were selected for the final round of the Marine Band Concerto Competition, presented as a recital open to the public. Pictured is bassoon player Donald Schweikert. The winner, euphonium player Peyton Sills, received a $2,500 scholarship, presented by Maj. Gen. James Kessler (USMC, ret.), CEO of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. He will perform his solo with the Marine Band in concert on March 31.
