On Friday, July 27, the Marine Band performed in the Lila Cockrell Theatre as part of the Texas Bandmasters Association 71st Annual Convention. The program began with John Philip Sousa’s march, “Sabre and Spurs,” followed by the world première of Peter Boyer’s Fanfare, Hymn, and Finale and Frank Ticheli guest conducting his own Clarinet Concerto. The concert also included Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy and works by Jonathan Leshnoff, Leonard Bernstein, John Williams, and Miklós Rózsa. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Gunnery Sgt.
