Once Upon a Time
On Feb. 4, 2018, the Marine Band performed "Once Upon a Time" at the Schlesinger Center at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Va. One selection included Donizetti's Overture to Don Pasquale transcribed by Master Gunnery Sgt. Pasquale Pulvirenti, USMC, who was in attendance. Pulvirenti enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1945 under President Franklin D. Roosevelt and served "The President's Own" until his retirement in 1975.
