Monday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. - "The President’s Own” United States Marine Band is honored to welcome internationally acclaimed conductor Giancarlo Guerrero to the podium for a special concert. Maestro Guerrero is Music Director of the Nashville Symphony and a fervent advocate for new music who recently led his orchestra to its second consecutive GRAMMY award. Maestro Guerrero has programmed Michael Daugherty’s Bells for Stokowski, which pays homage to legendary conductor Leopold Stokowski, as well as Kurt Weill’s Violin Concerto featuring soloist Staff Sgt. Sheng-Tsung Wang (pictured above). The performance will conclude in dramatic fashion with Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.
