Concert at Kennedy Center’s REACH Opening Festival September 5, 2019 — This Saturday, Sept. 7, the Marine Band will perform a free concert at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., at 11 a.m. outside on the North Plaza. Farewell to Outgoing Assistant Drum Major September 5, 2019 — In the summer of 2017, then-Gunnery Sgt. Stacie Crowther led the Marine Band as the first female Assistant Drum Major for “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. She had auditioned for and won the position in Fall 2016 and reported for duty in March 2017. Now as a Master Sergeant, Crowther will move on to a new role: Bandmaster for the Quantico Marine Band.
