Washington -- “The President’s Own” is pleased to announce that the following seven high school students will participate at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, in the final round of the Marine Band’s Concerto Competition:
Horn: James Bryant of Phenix City, AL
Oboe: Olivia Johann of Centreville, VA
Flute: Alejandro Lombo of Miramar, FL
Flute: Mei Stone of Waco, TX
Percussion: Jackson Riffle of Pleasant Hill, OH
Trombone: Ethan Shrier of Potomac, MD
Trumpet: Joshua Weckerly of Hatfield, PA

The recital will take place at the John Philip Sousa Band Hall at Marine Barracks Annex located at 7th and K Streets in Southeast, Washington, D.C. The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship from the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and perform in concert with the Marine Band at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 10 at Northern Virginia Community College’s Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center in Alexandria.
The concert is free and tickets are not required; light refreshments will be served. Free parking is available under the overpass on 7
th Street, and the facility is
