Sousa's March Mania

32 MARCHES. 4 WEEKS. 1 CHAMPION.

THE MANIA BEGINS MARCH 2, 2026.

“The President’s Own” hosts its annual “Sousa’s March Mania,” a tournament pitting 32 musical marches against each other for voters to decide which one will be crowned the year’s champion march. Every weekday marches will compete head-to-head while our friends and fans vote for marches to advance in the tournament. This year the competition celebrates America 250!

Fleet Marine Band Program Graphic of Musicians

Besides “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, the Marine Corps offers opportunities for musicians through the Fleet Marine Band Program, with bands located in southern California, the Carolinas, Hawaii, Louisiana, Virginia, Italy, and Japan. A career with the Fleet Marine Bands will challenge, develop, and elevate your talent — while serving something bigger than yourself.

Fleet Marine Band members attend Marine Corps Recruit Training and earn the title United States Marine. These musicians meet the same standards of discipline, physical fitness, and professionalism expected of every Marine while serving as musical ambassadors for the Marine Corps at national and international venues.

Various ensembles embedded within each Fleet Marine Band include wind ensemble, ceremonial band, popular music group, brass band, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, and other chamber groups.

For more information on how you or one of your students can enlist into this program through the Musician Enlistment Option Program (MEOP), visit the Fleet Marine Band Program website.
