Description: On Sunday, Nov. 9, the Marine Band will provide support for the annual Marine Corps Worship Service at Washington National Cathedral. This service celebrates the Corps’ 250th birthday and offers the chance to pause in prayer and pay tribute to Marines who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The Worship Service will begin at 4 p.m.

Friday Evening Parades:

Location: Marine Barracks Washington, 8th & I Streets SE, Washington, DC 20390

Description: Since 1957, Marine Barracks Washington, the "Oldest Post of the Corps," has held Friday Evening Parades to publicly showcase the pride, professionalism and esprit de corps of Marines worldwide. At these ceremonial dress parades, guests witness the finest display of military precision and excellence, including musical performances by "The President's Own" United States Marine Band and "The Commandant's Own" United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, and impressively choreographed rifle drill executed by the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. Following the ceremony, guests have the opportunity to meet Marines involved in the parade, as well as take photos with the Marine Barracks bulldog mascot, Chesty XVI.
