Description: Join the Marine Chamber Ensembles for a performance titled “Parades, Plows, Parties & Parlors.” The concert will take audience members through the vibrant musical sounds of Mount Vernon, to Scottish folk songs and finishing off with Georg Philipp Telemann Quartet in D minor.

Description: Join the Marine Chamber Ensembles for a journey across “The Brass Spectrum” with works by Vitaly Bujanovsky, Steven Christopher Sacco, Vincent Persichetti and Anthony Plog! A brass quintet rounds out the program with a performance of Robert Elkjer's Tribute to Frank Sinatra, including “Strangers in the Night,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “My Way” and “New York, New York.”

Description: "The President's Own" Fall Chamber Music Series continues with a concert featuring two contemporary compositions alongside a theatrical work by influential composer Igor Stravinsky. The program includes Ivan Trevino’s Driven, James Stephenson’s Suite from Vignettes and Stravinsky’s Histoire du Soldat. Trevino’s Driven, a percussion duo, “requires each player to simultaneously perform on a mallet instrument while also navigating a kick drum and snare drum.” Stephenson’s Suite from Vignettes is a technical and energetic piece scored for trumpet and percussion. Stravinsky’s Histoire du Soldat – The Soldier’s Tale – explores the dark themes of war, littered with allegories and intentional instrumentation to convey a striking story. 

The concert is free to attend and will be followed by a master class.

Description: Enjoy a concert titled “Music for the Soul,” featuring musicians from “The President’s Own” performing uplifting works that will do your heart good. The program will include Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Piano Quintet in C minor, Oscar Peterson’s Hymn to Freedom, Olivier Bogé’s contemporary jazz work “Poem,” and an enduring American popular song from the Great American Songbook—George Gershwin’s “They Can’t Take That Away From Me.” The concert will close with Marine Band vocalist Staff Sgt. Hannah Davis singing the lush vocals of Paul Simon’s popular song “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

Description: Join “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band’s ensemble “Free Country" for a Veteran's Day concert at Washington National Cathedral. The program will include a variety of patriotic and celebratory musical favorites honoring those who have served in the Armed Forces.

Friday Evening Parades:

Location: Marine Barracks Washington, 8th & I Streets SE, Washington, DC 20390

Description: Since 1957, Marine Barracks Washington, the "Oldest Post of the Corps," has held Friday Evening Parades to publicly showcase the pride, professionalism and esprit de corps of Marines worldwide. At these ceremonial dress parades, guests witness the finest display of military precision and excellence, including musical performances by "The President's Own" United States Marine Band and "The Commandant's Own" United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, and impressively choreographed rifle drill executed by the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. Following the ceremony, guests have the opportunity to meet Marines involved in the parade, as well as take photos with the Marine Barracks bulldog mascot, Chesty XVI.
