Inventory Management Chief
Staff Sgt. Roberto Penaherrera-Reyes

Inventory Management Chief Staff Sgt. Roberto S. Penaherrera-Reyes (Staff Sgt. Pena) of Danbury, Connecticut, joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in February 2026.

Staff Sgt. Pena graduated from Palisade Preparatory School in Yonkers, New York, in 2015 and enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2016. He completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, followed by Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina, and Inventory Management School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina.

Prior to reporting to Marine Barracks Washington, Staff Sgt. Pena served in 2d Supply Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, in 2017; Naval Support Activity Bahrain in 2019; 11th Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, California, in 2020; and Marine Security Guard’s Security Augmentation Unit in 2023.

Staff Sgt. Pena earned his associate’s degree in 2022, a Professional Certificate in Business Management in 2024 and a bachelor’s degree in 2025, all from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is currently qualified as a 0933 Combat Marksmanship Coach and a 0931 Combat Marksmanship Trainer.

As Inventory Management Chief within the band’s supply section, Staff Sgt. Pena oversees inventory control, warehousing and logistics; procures, manages and distributes supplies; and coordinates general logistics and supply chain operations.

Staff Sgt. Pena’s awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, third award, for his mission accomplishment in a forward-deployed environment, superior leadership and operational performance in high-risk environments. He was also awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. Over the course of his career, he has been meritoriously promoted to the ranks of Lance Corporal and Sergeant.
