Double Bassist Staff Sergeant Jonathan Keith of Houston, Texas, joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Chamber Orchestra in December 2024.
Staff Sgt. Keith began his musical instruction on double bass at age 12. After graduating from Memorial High School in Houston in 2016, he attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music in 2020 and studied with Sandor Ostlund. He then completed his master’s degree in music at Baylor University in 2023.
Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” he served as principal bassist of the Waco Symphony Orchestra.
Staff Sgt. Keith performs with the Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra at the White House, in the Washington, D.C., area, and across the country during the band’s annual concert tour.
