Communication Strategist Staff Sergeant Jon Tucker Broadbooks of Springfield, Il., joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in February 2024.

Staff Sgt. Broadbooks began his musical training on euphonium at age 10 and tuba at age 18. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 2016 and then attended Truman State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 2020. In 2022, Staff Sgt. Broadbooks received a master’s degree in history museum studies from State University of New York Oneonta.

Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Staff Sgt. Broadbooks was the marketing and communications manager for Dumbarton House Museum.

As a communication strategist, Staff Sgt. Broadbooks coordinates publicity campaigns for performances, special events, and national concert tours; represents “The President’s Own” at concerts and national conventions; writes and edits written content for print and web; produces visual and written content for Marine Band social media.
