Video Recording Engineer Staff Sergeant Claude Lumley of Boerne, Tx., joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in January 2024.
Staff Sgt. Lumley began his musical training on French horn at age 10. He graduated from Boerne High School in 2006 and then attended Baylor University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in French horn performance in 2011. In 2013, Staff Sgt. Lumley received a master’s degree in performance and literature, French horn from Eastman School of Music. His horn instructors have included Jeffrey Powers at Baylor University and Peter Kurau at Eastman School of Music.
Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Staff Sgt. Lumley served as a French hornist with the 392nd United States Army Band and the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America.
As Video Recording Engineer, Staff Sgt. Lumley records and edits video of Marine Band and Chamber Orchestra concerts and other performances.
