Recording Engineer
Staff Sgt. Aram Piligian

Recording Engineer Staff Sgt. Aram Piligian of Harleysville, Pa., joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in June 2021.

Staff Sgt. Piligian began his musical training on saxophone at age 10 and vocals at 17. After graduating in 2006 from Souderton Area High School, he attended Lebanon Valley College (LVC) in Annville, Pa., where he graduated with bachelor’s degrees in music education and music with a jazz studies concentration. During his time in school, he both studied under Tom Strohman and worked in audio-visual production for LVC’s media services department.

Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Staff Sgt. Piligian worked in audio-visual support for the pharmaceutical and higher education industries. He later became a senior audio engineer at IMS Technology Services, working on audio production for live events. Notably, he was chief systems engineer for the 2018 Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Parade.

As Recording Engineer, Staff Sgt. Piligian records various Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra concerts and sessions and provides sound reinforcement for performances. In addition, he is responsible for the preservation of the band’s recorded archive collections.
