Chief Stage Manager
Master Gunnery Sgt. Charles Terry Jr.

Chief Stage Manager Master Gunnery Sergeant Charles Terry Jr. of Washington, D.C., joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in September 1999.

Master Gunnery Sgt. Terry graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C., in 1981. He joined the Marine Corps in January 1996, and following recruit training in Parris Island, S.C., he attended Utilities School in Camp Lejeune, N.C. Upon graduation, he reported to the 8th Engineer Support Battalion 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune.

Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Master Gunnery Sgt. Terry served in Washington, D.C., on the Inspector and Instructor staff at Anacostia Naval Air Station and as an electrician at Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C.

As Chief Stage Manager, Master Gunnery Sgt. Terry is responsible for loading and transporting musical instruments and equipment, setting the stage for performances locally and on tour, managing the stage crew, and maintaining the facilities of “The President’s Own.”
