Chief Warrant Officer 3 Sara Sheffield has served as Deputy Director for Administration and Production for “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band since September 2023.

In this role, CWO3 Sheffield serves as the chief administrator for the Marine Band, acting as the conduit for all administrative action for the unit, including the joining and separation of its members, promotion processing, travel management, authoring and processing personal and unit awards, and drafting official correspondence. She is also the unit’s supply and production officer, overseeing physical inventory, executing the annual budget, and managing event timelines and processes.

A native of Jacksonville, Texas, she graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1997. She then attended the University of North Texas in Denton where she earned a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance in 2001. Later she earned an executive master’s in business administration from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. in 2016.

Prior to joining “The President’s Own”, CWO3 Sheffield was a member of the U.S. Army Band’s Army Chorale at Fort Myer in Arlington, Va. In May 2005, she became the Marine Band’s first official female vocalist. She was a soloist at White House State Dinners and the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ residence, performed regularly in the Washington, D.C. area, across the country during the band’s annual concert tour, and internationally for the band’s concert tours through Japan and Europe.
