Trombonist Master Sergeant Darren Bange of Reisterstown, Md., joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in May 2001.

Master Sgt. Bange began his musical career at age 5. Upon graduating in 1995 from Owings Mills High School in Maryland, he attended the Peabody Conservatory of the John Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he received a bachelor’s degree in 1999 and a master’s degree in 2001. His trombone instructors were David Fetter and James Olin.

Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” he played with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra and the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, both in Maryland.

Master Sgt. Bange performs with the Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra at the White House, in the Washington, D.C., area, and across the country during the band’s annual concert tour.
