“The President’s Own” employs a staff of 22 full-time support personnel who oversee the daily behind-the-scenes activities of the Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra.

The Music Production staff arranges repertoire that is performed by “The President’s Own” for the President and visiting dignitaries at the White House, throughout the Washington, D.C., area, and across the country during the band’s annual concert tour. The work of the Music Production staff encompasses the varied styles and instrumental combinations performed by the U.S. Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra in various concert settings.

The Operations Office is responsible for the daily scheduling and logistics of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra commitments. The Operations Office also oversees audition procedures.

The Administration Office is responsible for the processing of all orders, reenlistments, and retirements, maintaining service record books, and auditing all pay related matters.

The Library manages the music collections and historic archives of “The President’s Own.” The current music library contains more than 50,000 listings for band, orchestra, instrumental ensembles, dance band, piano music, scores, and reference books. The Marine Band library is one of the largest performing music libraries in the world.

The Office of Communication develops publicity campaigns for performances, special events, and national concert tours; writes and edits news stories, feature articles, and biographies; work with members of the local and national media; designs and produces brochures, flyers, and a bimonthly newsletter with an international circulation; represents “The President’s Own” at concerts and national conventions; manages the Marine Band’s website, graphic design initiatives, and ongoing photography, and advances the band’s annual concert tour.

The Stage Managers direct the loading, transportation, and set-up of musical instruments and equipment for more than 500 public performances by “The President’s Own” in the Washington, D.C., area, and across the nation during tour. In addition to these duties, the Stage Managers maintain the equipment and facilities of “The President’s Own” and are responsible for daily oversight of the Marine Band’s stage crew.

The Supply Office oversees the daily purchases of equipment and supplies and manages the inventory.

The audio technicians in the Recording Lab provide sound reinforcement for performances locally and on tour, serve as recording engineers for various Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra performances and recording projects, and are responsible for the recording studio and the preservation of the recorded archive collections.
