LATIN JAZZ ENSEMBLE: Sunday, May 8 at 2 p.m. (EST), Sousa Band Hall, Washington, D.C. Coordinated by pianist Gunnery Sgt. AnnaMaria Mottola, this Latin jazz infused concert will feature music by such artists as Chick Corea, Paquito D’Rivera, Tito Puente, Oscar Hernandez, Consuelo Velazquez, Heraclio Fernandez, Wayne Wallace, Michel Camilo, Airto Moreira, and Nova & Jory. STRING ENSEMBLES: Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m. (EST), Sousa Band Hall, Washington, D.C. Coordinated by violist Gunnery Sgt. Tam Tran, the all-strings program will feature multiple ensembles, from solo violin to string quintet and sextet. Selections include Arvo Pärt’s Fratres, Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, Opus 4, Niccolò Paganini’s Caprice No. 1 in E, Opus 1, and Robert Schumann’s Quintet in E-flat for Piano and Strings, Opus 44.
