Master Gunnery Sergeant Charles Terry, Jr.

Stage Manager Master Gunnery Sergeant Charles Terry, Jr. joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in September 1999. Master Gunnery Sgt. Terry graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C., in 1981. He joined the Marine Corps in January 1996, and following recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, S.C., he attended Utilities School in Camp Lejeune, N.C. Upon graduation, he reported to the 8th Engineer Support Battalion 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune. Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Master Sgt. Terry served in Washington, D.C., on the Inspector and Instructor staff at Anacostia Naval Air Station and as an electrician at Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C.

As Stage Manager, Master Gunnery Sgt. Terry is responsible for loading and transporting musical instruments and equipment, setting the stage for performances locally and on tour, managing the stage crew, and maintaining the facilities of “The President’s Own."

Gunnery Sergeant Richard Dickerson

Assistant Stage Manager Gunnery Sergeant Richard Dickerson joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in July 2004. Gunnery Sgt. Dickerson began his musical training at age five. Upon graduating in 1992 from El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, he joined the United States Marine Corps. In November 1992, following recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, he reported to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band in El Toro, Calif. After one enlistment, he separated from the Marine Corps to attend the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore where, in 2000, he received a bachelor of music degree in French horn performance. Gunnery Sgt. Dickerson’s instructors include David Bakkegard of the Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra associate principal horn Peter Landgren, also of Peabody Conservatory, and recording artist Barry Tuckwell.

Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Gunnery Sgt. Dickerson served as a stage crew member and stage manager for the Peabody Conservatory Opera Department from 1996-2003 and assistant stage manager for the Baltimore Opera Company from 2002-2004.

Corporal Jonathon Bauer

Stage crewman Corporal Jonathon Bauer joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in March 2015. Cpl. Bauer graduated in 2010 from Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, Va., and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2012. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, S.C., and the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, N.C. Prior to his assignment with "The President's Own," Cpl. Bauer was a member of the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit from February-October 2014.







Corporal Jordan Dross

Stage crewman Corporal Jordan Dross joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in September 2013. After graduating in 2010 from Manasquan High School and taking classes at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, N.J., Cpl. Dross enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2012. He attended recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, S.C., the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, N.C., and Marine Security Forces School in Chesapeake, Va. Cpl. Dross then received orders to Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., Guard Company prior to his assignment with “The President’s Own.”





Lance Corporal Daniel Gonzalez

Stage crewman Lance Corporal Daniel Gonzalez joined "The President's Own" United States Marine Band in September 2015. After graduating in 2011 from Landstown High School in Virginia Beach, Lance Cpl. Gonzalez enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2013. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, S.C., and the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, N.C. Prior to his assignment with "The President's Own," Lance Cpl. Gonzalez served with the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines in Camp Lejeune, N.C., and took part in Baltic Operations with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.





Lance Corporal Swen Gonzalez

Stage crewman Lance Corporal Swen Gonzalez joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in April 2014. After graduating in 2007 from Coral Gables High School and taking classes at Miami Dade College from 2009-11, Lance Cpl. Gonzalez enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2013. He attended recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, S.C., the School of Infantry at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Marine Security Forces School in Chesapeake, Va., prior to his assignment with “The President’s Own.”





Corporal Jesse Muñoz

Stage crewman Corporal Jesse Muñoz joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in May 2015. After graduating in 2007 from Sydney Lanier High School San Antonio, Cpl. Muñoz enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2008. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the School of Infantry West at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Prior to his assignment with “The President’s Own,” Cpl. Muñoz served with the 2nd Battalion, 3d Marine Regiment in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, and the 3d Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton. He was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2009-10 and 2010-2011 and to Okinawa, Japan in 2012 and 2014 as part of the Unit Deployment Program.




Lance Corporal John Shepherd

Stage crewman Lance Corporal John Shepherd joined "The President's Own" United States Marine Band in September 2015. After graduating in 2011 from G.A.R. Memorial High School in Wilkes-Barre, Lance Cpl. Shepherd enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2012. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, S.C., and the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, N.C. Prior to his assignment with "The President's Own," Lance Cpl. Shepherd served with the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines in Camp Lejeune, N.C., and took part in Baltic Operations with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.
