Henry Weber joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in 1915 as a clarinetist and was the first man to hold a commission of a warrant officer as an Assistant Director.

A graduate of McKinley Technology High School in Washington, D.C., he attended the University of Chicago where he studied clarinet and violin. As Second Leader/Assistant Director, Weber conducted the band in concert and in radio programs, including NBC’s successful “Dream Hour,” and participated in more than 30 concert tours. On Feb. 24, 1951 Weber suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while on vacation in Mexico City, ending his nearly 36-year career.
